New Emerging Team Grants – Clinical Autoimmunity - Letter of Intent

The objective of the "New Emerging Team Grants - Clinical Autoimmunity" Program is to promote development of either the growth of small existing teams or the formation of completely new competitive research teams undertaking collaborative multidisciplinary research in the area of clinical autoimmunity. The essence of NET grants is to provide support for new or existing groups who can demonstrate that they are committed to (1) engendering a trans-disciplinary research culture and (2) attracting, engaging and mentoring junior researchers (faculty and post-doctoral fellows not otherwise funded) or established researchers, within teams or networks working on autoimmunity research themes. The creation or the enhancement of teams likely to develop new, or refine existing, research methods or tools, is encouraged.

Letters of Intent (LOIs) were received for the March 1, 2006 deadline for the "New Emerging Team Grants - Clinical Autoimmunity" Program. The Letters of Intent were reviewed for responsiveness to the strategic research themes of the initiative and to the goals of the New Emerging Team Grants Program.

A total of 13 Letters of Intent were received of which 13 were invited to submit a full application for the August 1, 2006 deadline.

Congratulations to the successful applicants.
